PANEL ONE: Officer Benjamin Barley is standing in front of a crime scene speaking with Sergeant Bossman.
BOSSMAN: Great work, boyo! Looks like these pirates are going from STEALIN' blockbusters... to bustin' blocks!
BOSSMAN: ...on the CHAIN GANG
BARLEY: Thank you, sir
PANEL TWO: Hesitantly, Barley prepares to make his case.
BOSSMAN: Something wrong, Barley?
BARLEY: Honestly, sir? I've been on copyright detail for nearly three years
BARLEY: I think I'm ready for something bigger
PANEL THREE: Bossman thinks about it. Barley is excited.
BOSSMAN: well...
BOSSMAN: I DO have an undercover spot on my exclusive new taskforce...
BOSSMAN: but are you sure you're ready? To RUN with the BIG DOGS?
BARLEY: Oh wow! Yes, sir! I'm in! What's the job?
PANEL FOUR: The lieutenant gazes off into the distance. Barley is very confused.
BOSSMAN: In the criminal justice system, crimes involving adorable animals often FALL THROUGH THE CRACKS
BARLEY: what?
BOSSMAN: In New York City, there is an elite squad of detectives who bring these offenders to justice
BARLEY: wait WHAT?
BOSSMAN: These are their stories
PANEL FIVE: the LAW & ORDER: ADORABLE MISCHIEF UNIT logo
SFX: DONK DONK
PANEL SIX: Barley is dressed like a puppy. He is in a cage. The cage is at a pet show. Another puppy gives him a suspicious glare -- it knows a cop when it sees one.
BARLEY: what are YOU looking at?
